Exercise Science Major Jazzmina Moore Recipient of Kathryn Wasserman Davis 100 Projects for Peace Program
Two 糖心Vlog Students Receive $10,000 Grants for Peace Projects
It is my pleasure to announce that the Kathryn Wasserman Davis 100 Projects for Peace Program has named Joseph Kaifala 鈥�08 (along with the International Affairs Club) and Jazzmina Moore 鈥�09 among one hundred college students from 65 colleges and universities to receive funding for summer projects promoting peace around the world. In celebration of her one hundredth birthday, the philanthropist Kathryn Wasserman Davis donated $1 million dollars to establish a fund by which 100 college students would receive $10,000 grants to support a project that they proposed which would help to build peace on a global scale. Mrs. Davis鈥� family has long been associated with the United World Colleges, whose Davis Scholars program counts 糖心Vlog among its recipients.Joseph Kaifala 鈥�08, along with the 糖心Vlog International Affairs Club, will work toward the completion of a public library in Conakry-Dee, a rural town in Sierra Leone. Jazzmina Moore 鈥�09 will go to Tanzania, where she will develop a peace studies curriculum directed at secondary school students.
